Barossa Valley

Adelaide Hills - South Australia

Adelaide Hills are an upcoming wine area, located an hour drive east of Adelaide. It is very beautiful area, with rolling hills, planted with vineyards and orchards. In the early years of last century, Adelaide Hills became home to many German Settlers, that’s why you find names like Hanhdorf and Lobental. Due to the altitude of the vineyards in Adelaide Hills, the region is considered a moderate cold climate. Varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir are considered the flagship varietals for this appellation.

Pike & Joyce
Small Gully

The Pike family, long established in winemaking and viticulture and the Joyce family, longtime horticulturists, have come together to develop this 18ha joint venture vineyard at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia.

The vineyard site, which was once apple and pear orchards, is characterized by steep North and East facing slopes and possesses fantastic gravelly clay and loam soils which are ideally suited to the classic cool climate varieties that have been planted – Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard is all hand pruned and handpicked with the fruit being chilled overnight in the Joyce cool rooms, before being transported to Pike’s Clare Valley winery for vinification.
