Colour: Dark rich purple
Nose: the nose shows a nice mix of small berries with some hints of mint from the cabernet
Palate: This rich palate shows a mix of black fruit with wild mulberry’s and cassis, with a backbone of integrated fruit tannins
Cellar note: This wine is ready to drink but can cellared for another 7 years
Food pairing: Will go well with a beef stew, pan fried entrecote with sautéed garlic and hard cheese platter
Arjen’s view: Cabernet Merlot is a popular blend in Australia, the plum fruit component of Merlot tones down the tannin in the Cabernet Sauvignon, while the Cabernet brings it structure to the blend, a very good match! The Winery uses high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from two of their vineyards in the Heathcote Wine Region, which has given the wine a much fuller and riper middle palate.
This is a serious wine that won’t disappoint you!
